One Week Left of the NaNoMonster

Seven days left on the calendar. 2,000 words a day and I'll have myself a really messy rough draft! Here we go!

I think it's awesome that you have the kind of life where you can do NANOWRIMO and it be considered really working hard on your profession. Most people would get fired if they did this--my kids would just nail me to the floor. Luckeee!

Hey Everyone (This is Nate, not Mr. Blue Man {aka the NaNoWrimonster [aka Chester the Magical Centaur]} Good grief.

Anyway. Since I'm at my keyboard, I'm supposed to be cranking out some of those 2,000 words a day. But apparently I have some extra typing in me, so here goes:

Sarah--yeah, I am am pretty lucky in being able to do NaNoWriMo and justify it as part of my job. But, I am no more qualified to do it than anyone else, and it doesn't mean by any stretch that my NaNo book will ever see publication (especially in the state it's in right now. Yikes! )

I didn't know I was going to do it until the day it started, November 1st. I'd always wanted to try it, and my regular illustration load was on the light side (lots of small education press jobs, no BIG projects) so I just dove in. It's been very interesting, both easier and harder than I thought it would be.

I think it's a great program and everyone who loves reading and writing should try it at least once. I've enjoyed it so much, I think I'll do it next year. And I'm gonna try National SCRIPT Writing Month in April (I just found out there was one, but that'd be just the thing for a graphic novel script.) So, as a blanket challenge to all blog readers, give it a try! You have a whole year to think about it!

Stuart--Mr Weird Comments Man [if you like that] Chester is not evil, he's covering the blog so I can work on other projects. Think of him as an ugly, blue substitute teacher.

E--Seven days. I'm totally gonna use this to get out of any and all Thanksgiving duties. "Just bring my plate down to the basement, thanks. I'm WRITING."

Dagnabbit! That was at least 100 words I could have tacked onto my page count.

Just logged 2400, so writing in the comments section here must have helped.

Take 45 min. breaks when you need it!!! (: Writing for hours without a break from the writing is most terrible!
