I usually keep pretty quiet on the jobs I work on. But this one will be so long-term, I figured I'd let you in on it.
I'm illustrating the WHOLE bible--Old and New Testament--for St. Mary's Press. It's a textbook bible for grade school level religion classes.
Here's an early sketch from one of this week's pages:
I'll give you five guesses which Old Testament (hint!) story this is for--but only five.
If you guessed Noah's Ark, you are correct.
Moses parting the red sea?
ReplyDeleteAnd how awesome!
That is so cool.
ReplyDeleteIsn't this the one where Jehosasomebody single-handedly faced the entire Philippine army? Then he blinded them with an interpretive dance and they all fell down. And there was something about a meteor, or was that hail falling from a clear sky? I don't really remember, but I'm sure it's in there somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThe sketch looks great. I especially like how it captures the motion of the scene. Awesome job. I can't wait to see the final.
Wow, that's a big project. When is your deadline on that?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the bots. If you recall, the geese-o-matics finally got my 8 year old son into the Christmas spirit.
That is a huge project! As I recall from my failed attempts to read the entire thing, the Bible is long!
ReplyDeleteDavid and Goliath, the favourite scene of many, because of the significance of the young David who would later become King David written in 1 Samuel 17:1-58. =)
ReplyDeleteThat's an amazing sketch! The detail's super awesome! =D I love how it's a textbook, too, I wish my textbooks were like that at some point..... (all. words. *shiver*)It's so awesome!!!
David and Goliath! I wonder why so many people didn't know that!
ReplyDeleteI like the pose David's in. It's also cool how Goliath's head has been jolted back by the force of the blow.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the Bible project!
Awesome portrayal of David and Goliath!
ReplyDeleteThanks for telling us what it is.
ReplyDeleteAlso, happy birthday!
