That's it for this chapter of The Land of Doom. We'll visit it again. There is more doom--there is tons more doom. I hope you learned something about the frightening world of children's publishing.
I'm starting something new tomorrow. It's going to be interactive. You, the reader, will be doing all the creative heavy-lifting. Should be fun!
I'm reading the Children's Writers' and Artists' Yearbook at the moment, so you're really only fuelling the fire! The Land of Doom should be the centre spread, actually, I think we'd all learn something...
ReplyDeleteThanks Nathan! I loved this chapter in the Land of Doooooom! Congrats to Yellowbelly too!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys. I never really got to the "swamp" of the title. I'm surprised nobody's called me on that yet. I had plans to go further into the publishing world...but there's just so much ground to cover. So, I guess we'll call that water section with the hopping the "swamp."
ReplyDeleteThere is a swamp--a scary swamp--coming up later. Now I guess I'll have to change the swamp to quicksand since I titled this chapter "swamp."
Also, what happened to the shields? We started out with them. I guess we got tired of hauling them around, so we Frisbeed them off the cliff. (In case you were wondering.)
I'm feeling kind of jealous of Yellowbelly's quick rise to the top...
ReplyDeleteRather than discouraging me, your stories about the Land of Doom are encouraging me to go further writing (perhaps not as far as publishing, but even still...). I mean, who wouldn't want to frisbee a shield off a cliff?
ReplyDeleteGrrrr. Pica, they are meant to discourage! I'm trying to thin the herd here! ;)
