I can tell you a little about it, it's a non-fiction graphic novel, based on U.S. History. If you guessed Lewis and Clark, you were right. Although, this one isn't Lewis and Clark, it is a different historical event. I got this project on the strength of my "Bottle of Thunder" story, so I have L and C to thank, but the 120 pages I just sketched didn't involve them. This book won't come out until 2012, but, there will be two of them at launch. That's right, it's a series!
So if you can imagine true stories from history, told in the goofy, "Bottle of Thunder" style, 120 pages each, you'll have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing right now. It's been very exciting, I'm buried under U.S. History research and having a lot of fun!
I'll post more info in the future. But I don't want to dwell too much on it while I'm still deep in the process. Plus, I don't want to hype something that is still TWO YEARS AWAY.
Back tomorrow.
That's really exciting, though! Sounds like it's going to be a fun project. Looking forward to it (even if it IS two years away)
ReplyDeleteAwesome work, Nate. So excited for your success!

Two years is way long. There is a whole pile of Robo-Santa Christmas at our school book fair!
ReplyDeleteSounds awesome! I love the idea of teaching US history with a graphic book. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteFirst Robo-Christmas, next "Bottle of Thunder"
ReplyDeleteWhen you started, did you have any idea your space station was going to get you book deals like this?
Are there any more offers, or that are under consideration? Obviously you can't tell us which, but...
I'm super excited about this series. So great.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say, is someone was very smart to grab this. I can't wait. Congratualtions.
