Lewis and Clark in "The Bottle of Thunder" Part 12

I've seen them referred to as both "Thunderbolts" and "Thunderclappers." Yes folks, this is real--real documented history, and yes, it is also an elaborate potty joke.

See, I told you I knew a good story about Lewis and Clark--you really can't make this stuff up. Tomorrow will be the final day of the Bottle of Thunder story.

  2. Hey we use this method with our guests on the river... we call it lightning express coffee aka cowboy coffee...
Things get tricky when solid waste is involved.

  4. I am now going to make a label for a bottle that reads "Dr. Rush's Homemade Bilious Pills" and keep it on my desk.

  5. David, tomorrow you'll hear about the ingredients for a Thunderclapper pill--trust me, they don't sell these anymore.

Commenter "Greg and Leigh" are Grand Canyon River Guides (also my sister and bro-in-law) in case you were wondering about "guests on the river." I need to do a whole cartoon on them and their crazy awesome job (I'd quit the illustration biz in a heartbeat to be a river guide on the Grand.)

E.E. there's no clicking about it. Exploding, but no clicking.

jw, this is a great idea, I'm applying a paste-up to my bottle of Omega-3 Fish Oil Pills right now.
