RAPUNZEL is Nom-nom-nominated for an EISNER!

Big news everyone, RAPUNZEL'S REVENGE just got nominated for an EISNER Award!

Eisner Award modeled here by 2006 Winner OWLY--if you haven't checked out OWLY and you have very young readers, go to Amazon NOW and buy it. Adorable!

For those of you new to comics, the Eisners are "The Oscars of Comics." It's a giant honor, voted on by pros from the comics industry. Rapunzel is nominated in the "Best Publication For Teens/Tweens" category. Look at the fantastic company we're in:

Coraline, by Neil Gaiman, adapted by P. Craig Russell (HarperCollins Children's Books)

Crogan's Vengeance, by Chris Schweizer (Oni)

The Good Neighbors, Book 1: Kin, by Holly Black and Ted Naifeh (Scholastic Graphix)

Rapunzel's Revenge, by Shannon and Dean Hale and Nathan Hale (Bloomsbury Children's Books)

Skim, by Mariko Tamaki and Jillian Tamaki

The awards will be announced in July at Comic-Con--so you guessed it, we're going to Comic-Con! I'll make sure to shoot a lot of photos for the blog. Great news! And  to the nomination committee and Eisner Judges, THANK YOU!

  2. Congratulations, Nate! I'm always introducing friends to Rapunzel. Having lived in San Diego for 6 years know many Comic-Con devotees. Our friend Heather Theurer shows her paintings there every year. http://www.heathertheurer.com/artwork_detail.php?galleryID=3&artworkID=30#top

  8. Congratulations Nathan! And Shannon and Dean! That's wonderful news. Just being nominated will expose a lot more people to Rapunzel and Jack's adventures just in time for the sequel to come out! I've been promoting Rapunzel's Revenge at the school I teach at, with my wife's Shannon Hale-novel-devouring-friends, and other places. It's a great read. You deserve the nom, I hope y'all win it! Good luck, can't wait till July!
